Hello Golfers,
Mud Run Golf Course is starting to take shape for the 2020 golf season. We have had a nice cool somewhat wet spring so far to start the 2020 golfing season. This has helped with proper growth to jumpstart the turf to come out of its winter dormancy. The soil temperatures are also starting to rise to activate the root zones in the turfgrass.
Greens have been fertilized and are coming in nice for this season. We are mowing everyday now, sometimes double cutting and rolling to get the greens speeds consistent for the start of the season. I might add; all the fairways and tees have also been fertilized with a wonderful product that not only fertilizes the turf, but also controls crabgrass on a pre-emergent action.
The rough has been sprayed with a post-emergent systemic selective herbicide for the control of broadleaf weeds such as; dandelion, clover, chickweed, plantain, knotweed and purslane. The bunkers have also been edged, sand pushed up on faces, and raked for a uniform look and appearance.
I hope everyone enjoys their selves and theĀ golf course this 2020 golfing season, here at the Mud Run Golf Course and Driving Range!
